Middle School Tryouts

"A dream does not become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination, and hard work." - Colin Powell

It’s been said that it takes roughly 10,000 hours to become good at something, or 28 days of doing the same thing over and over to create a habit and it’s no different when it comes to sports. If you want to exceed, become better, or make the team, it’s no surprise that you need to practice and try out. If your child loves basketball, Baskets Academy might be the perfect fit!

Youth sports can have a lasting impact on the development of children and includes so much more than how to shoot hoops. Certain life lessons you get from sports can rarely be taught elsewhere. Here are just a few.

  • How to be a leader

  • How to be a follower

  • Body language cues

  • How to control emotions

  • Setting and achieving goals

  • Success requires hard work and effort

  • How to succeed with class

  • How to lose/fail with dignity

  • Success requires sacrifice

  • Know your strengths and weaknesses

  • Being healthy is important

  • Discipline

  • How to deal with pressure

  • Being responsible for your own actions

  • Life isn’t always fair

  • Together everyone achieves more

  • There will be tough times

  • How to manage time efficiently

  • Respect everyone

  • Focus on what you can control

At Baskets Academy we teach your child how to play the game of basketball, starting with the fundamentals. We are dedicated to improving your player every step of the way. As an Academy, we teach skill enhancements to overall knowledge of the game and aim to assist players in reaching their full potential.  We provide group and personal training sessions throughout the year and host camps, tournament teams, and league play.
